40th Anniversary | Stock limited to 700 pieces worldwide
Join the celebration of G-SHOCK's 40th anniversary with luxury style and quality with a limited edition watch from the iconic MR-G line of G-SHOCK watches that pays homage to the art of craftsmanship.
Dedicated to traditional Japanese craftsmanship techniques passed down over centuries, this watch celebrates the pride and aesthetics of samurai warriors with a design that incorporates the Shougeki-Maru: Gai, the Kabuto helmet that Casio created for the MR-G line.
The rim captures the front emblem of this very special helmet, with a tiger design and granular relief engraved by goldsmith KOBAYASHI Masao. Each limited edition watch is a unique piece, hand-engraved by a master craftsman.
The Durasoft fluororubber strap in pure white recalls the look of the white ito odoshi*1 used in the manufacture of traditional Japanese armor. A deep layer hardening process and dark silver AIP® is applied to the recrystallized titanium case to express the color of the Shougeki-Maru: Gai helmet. An engraved metal plaque commemorating G-SHOCK's 40th anniversary on the side of the case at the 10 o'clock position adds a touch of bold style, as do the four lab-created rubies*2 on the bezel, which symbolize the 40th anniversary of G-SHOCK. years.
More than just a tribute to tradition, this watch also offers superior modern functionality. Equipped with Bluetooth® for smartphone connectivity, the watch adjusts to radio wave time signals for accurate timekeeping and includes convenient functions with original Casio technology.
This very special, 40th anniversary-worthy MR-G celebrates Japan's traditional craftsmanship and modern technologies, all in a unique samurai-inspired timepiece.
*1 White Ito odoshi: The white thread that joins the Shikoro armor plates together. Pure white symbolizes the strong determination of a warrior who remains true to his own convictions, immune to others (like white not dyed by other colors).
*2 The heads of the screws that secure the bezel are embedded with rubies that were created in the laboratory by Kyocera, a material selected under commitment to ethical considerations. Since ancient times, rubies have been known as the "stone of victory" and were believed to carry the energies of triumph over hardship and victory.
